Excellent TV Shows for You

Some of us prefer to spend some times at home during the weekends. For some of us, that would be the ultimate way to give us some excellent rests after the whole week working sessions. Actually, we did that also because we saw the other benefit of staying at home. We didn’t have to spend some money such as we should spend if we went out somewhere. So, if we stayed at home, the TV would be the main entertainment media that we could use for the home entertainment.

There are many kinds of TV shows that could give us some excellent entertainments at home. We would be able to see some TV series, from the drama series, comedy, or even thrillers. We could also see some reality shows in the TV. Some others might prefer to watch the live sport shows. Each of the TV viewers has their own preferences. The most important thing is, they would have some chances to watch some excellent TV shows in the TV.

The Development of Disney World

Some of us were grown in the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse’s era. Those two characters are the legend in the kids’ world in that moment. In that time, we still didn’t hear anything about SpongeBob, Doraemon, and many other new cartoon characters. Somehow, after several decades, those characters are still existing and somehow, their existences even getting stronger. For kids, even today’s kids, the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Minnie, Daisy Duck, Pluto and many others are still interesting enough for them.

The image of the Disney’s characters would always be eternal, especially for the classic Disney lovers. Visiting the Disneyland would give us some sorts of excellent feelings. We would not only have some fun. We would get something more than just some fun. Somehow, even though those characters are eternal, the Disney still should move on and try to create some new characters that represent the characters of today’s kids.

They have decided to create some new movies such as the phenomenal Simba of the Lion King. They also invented the fish character in Nemo. That would be something that even Walt Disney himself has never ever imagined before. If he could see us, perhaps he would be smiling to see that his efforts would last longer than he ever expected. It’s even last longer than his life, and it really is his greatest legacy.

Gossip Girl

“Good morning Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl here, you’re one and only guide to Manhattan’s elite.” The quote that started it all. Gossip Girl is a television series based from the book of the same name.

It is also obvious that Gossip Girl’s target audience is for girls but even guys get hooked.  Basically the show is mostly about a group of teenagers aged around 14-18 who attend a rather elite high school, St Jude’s, which is based in New York’s Upper East Side. Gossip Girl is a narrator, who is unseen during season 1 and so far in season 2.

Within the main characters there are various relationships – Blair and Nate are portrayed as the perfect society couple at the start of the season but as the season progresses we see there are many cracks in their relationship, including a naughty encounter Nate has with Serena just before her self-imposed exile. Serena is determined not to rekindle their fling on her return as she is Blair’s best friend and was the “Queen” before she ran away and Blair assumed that particular position in the school “gang”. Then Serena and Dan fall for each other, a relationship which is highly discouraged by her best friend Blair who treats Dan like something she stepped on and is made more complicated by the fact that Serena’s mother and Dan’s father were once lovers.

The Oprah Winfrey Show Finale

The Oprah show has been a mainstay in many lives throughout the years. Many people have enjoyed watching her on television and her many other programs that are on the air and in print. Many people have faithfully watched her show for many years almost twenty five to be exact. Unfortunately in late 2009 Oprah Winfrey announced that her hit talk show of many years will end in 2011.

Winfrey told the audience that she loved “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” that it had been her life and that she knew when it was time to say goodbye. “Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and feels right in my spirit,” she said.

In addition to a great television show among other things, Oprah has her outstanding book club. Oprah’s book club has been around since 1996. Oprah’s book club has introduced many books that may not have been noticed by the majority of readers.

Winfrey offered no specifics about her plans for the future, except to say that she intended to produce the best possible shows during her last 18 months on the air. Many fans heading into Harpo Studios on Friday morning seemed to support Winfrey’s decision.

Smallville Review

“Smallville” set a record in its first episode, drawing 8.4 million viewers to its story of young Superman (the largest audience ever recorded for the Warner Brothers network). The show follows young Clark Kent through his high school years in small-town America, sustaining interest in the future Superman with good acting and good stories.

“Smallville” succeeds because its actors create compelling characters, highlighting the personal struggles of the future hero rather than his uniform and superpowers. From the very first episode Clark finds emotional struggles, knowing that the meteor which brought him to earth also killed the parents of Lana Lang.

Lex’s character creates much of the show’s conflict, suspiciously eying his friend Clark for signs of his superpowers. But there’s another interesting wrinkle. Lex must also deal with difficult father Lionel, a ruthless businessman. Lionel’s machinations lend additional tension to the show.

Lana Lang, who was portrayed as “the girl who had a crush on Clark” in the comics has a pivotal role in Clark’s rise to Superman on Smallville. With the chemistry the two display on screen, it’s as tragic as a Shakesperean drama to watch two characters who are madly in love with one another and know that they’re ultimately not meant to be.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 6 Premiere

On Thursday September 24, 2009 the long awaited season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy finally premiered. Last season audiences were left with the most shocking cliff hanger of all five seasons: The death of either George O’Malley or Izzie Stevens! Unfortunately the inevitable happened when George O’Malley died.

Rumor has been circulating since last year that the actor who plays George is unhappy and wants off the show. After the infamous Isiah Washington scandal a rift that was never mended was created between T.R Knight and show creator Shonda Rhimes. Katherine Heigl who also plays Izzie Stevens is rumored to want off the show as well. She infamously chose to not submit her name for an Emmy nomination last year saying the writing did not merit an Emmy nomination. Naturally this was a slap in the face to the show writers. But regardless, the show did not grant her wish. Many speculate it’s because she is a box office star and can still bring in viewers.

Heroes Review

NBC’s hit new series, Heroes, follows the stories of several average people that discover they have unusual abilities. Although it sounds clich at first, it is a very captivating show because it is so easy to relate to the characters. They may have superpowers but they certainly aren’t perfect, and that makes them feel very real and very human. It’s their flaws and confusion over what is happening to them that really draws you into the experience.

Not only does each story feel up close and personal, there are so many main characters that there’s bound to be one that you can relate to. In a TV world dominated by occupation-specific shows such as CSI or House it is rare to find a show with such a broad range of roles. It is interesting to see how differently a politician and an artist each react to the discovery of a personal superpower. And despite the fact that the plot branches out to follow each character, all the stories are continuously being interwoven. It’s even fun to speculate who will cross paths next and how it will happen.

Supernatural TV Series Review

It all started by taking the brothers, Dean and Sam Winchester, out investigating urban legends that we have all heard of and wondered about. From there it evolved into finding the demon responsible for killing their mother, all with a few plot twists thrown in, such as finding out several children born on the same day were intentionally given powers by the demon for a sinister purpose. Sam is one of those children.

This show is full of action and characterization. It combines both to great effect so not only does it keep you on the edge of your seat but you really care about what happens to the characters. The family dynamic and the interaction between the two brothers and how each one relates to his father is some of the best character interaction you’ll see on TV.

So, what’s to like about Supernatural? What’s not to like. Brother’s who bicker and love each other just like all siblings everywhere. The war being fought between Good and evil at the supernatural level and everything in between. Characters you can really identify with battling the war within, just like the rest of us do day in and day out. This is a show you don’t want to miss. Entertainment with substance. Watch it, you’ll love it!
