The significance of a corporate gift is understood by every company. A corporate gift uplifts the self-esteem of employees by recognizing their value, and thus helps in retaining them as they feel that they are getting the accolades they warrant from the organization. Other employees feel the need to show significant performance matching that of the best performing employees, when they see the respect that it can bring. Their immense importance attached to it means that you have to be very careful when picking a corporate gift.
A corporate gift must be commemorative, so that the possessor can cherish the memories and achievements associated with it. This is the reason why trophies and plaques have long been thought of as great gift items, which always remind people of their accomplishments. Everyone likes to display them in the drawing room and they can be a source of pride as well as inspiration.
Plaques are quite versatile and probably that is why they have remained popular as a gift item for ages. They can be made of different materials such as metal, stone, and even synthetic plastics. Nevertheless, the most suitable and elegant of all plaques is the wooden plaque. The Vanderbilt Commodores are a good college basketball team. They have never made it to a final four and they don’t get the exposure of some of the other SEC teams, but they are incredibly exciting to watch.
Sure I am biased because I went to school there, but this team has had some incredible wins in recent years. Here are the top 5.
Two years ago, Tennessee was ranked as the number one team in the country. They had just beaten Memphis (also located in Tennessee and also were ranked #1 in the country at the time) and had just a day off before having to face Vandy. Vanderbilt crushed the Vols to move up to the #13 team in the nation.
If you are a fan of college hoops then you know Florida was dominant in 2006-2007. They were the first back to back champions in quite some time. What you may not be aware of is the fact that Vandy handed them their first loss as defending champions.
It should be noted that Florida went on to win the national championship again. So yeah, the Commodores should essentially have been given the title that year. Kidding, kidding.

1. Longevity: The Styrofoam and polyurethane crown moldings have a tendency to break down over a period of time. Galvanize & Tin crown molding have been on city buildings for 80 years and more. Copper crown moldings last well over 100 years, other metals are also strong and Durable.
2. Water Absorption: The Foams have been known to absorb moisture. Under cold and freezing conditions areas where the foam crown moldings were installed may have retained dampness and moisture then freeze. This can crack causing costly damage. Thousands of film-lovers (and film-loving journalists) descend on Berlin every year for the Berlin International Film Festival, which opened this afternoon with the world premiere of Wang Quan’an’s “Tuan Yuan” (”Apart Together”).
The film is a love story as well as a study of the contrasts– generational, cultural, architectural– in modern China. “Apart Together” examines both the joy and pain wrought by reunification, a theme that makes it a fitting choice for the 60th Berlinale. The city of Berlin celebrated the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall last year. “People are less demonstrative about their feelings in China,” said Wang, “but the longing to be together is the same everywhere.”
Reitmeier, who doesn’t speak any Mandarin but has collaborated with Wang on three films including “Apart Together,” said that there was a conscious decision to make the film look like a theatre piece– hence the multiple scenes around the table or in small apartment bedrooms.
The film’s warm, domestic tableaux seemed to sooth the press who had come in from the cold– light snow and low-20 degree temperatures are certainly perfect movie-going weather. And if you use your imagination, snowy Potsdamer Platz in the middle of Berlin looks a bit like hazy Shanghai.

For the first time, the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences has expanded the Best Picture category to ten nominations. Golden Globe Awards, which precedes the Oscars on the calendar, has ten nominations as well. However, the Golden Globes divides the movies by genre – there are two Best Picture categories, one for drama, and the other for comedy and musical films.
The expansion of the nominations has been controversial. The artistic side of the movie making business has expressed fears that expanding the number of nominations will dilute the quality of the nominees in favor of quantity. In some years, it has been argued, even with just five nominations; some of the honorees have been less than stellar.
The reasoning given for doubling the number of Best Picture nominees is too many “great” movies are being excluded from the competition. In other words the controversy of 2008’s most popular and commercially successful movie “The Dark Knight” being snubbed in the Best Picture race. That issue is tied into the true reasons for the change which are money and television ratings. The Academy has finally realized the prime target audience of young viewers are not watching because popular blockbuster hits like “The Dark Knight” and “Iron Man” are never nominated.
